The NBP mid rate
Every business day the NBP publishes table A with mid rates for about 30 currencies against the Polish zloty. They are the reference rates for Polish tax and accounting. The converter fetches them straight from the NBP API, so it shows exactly the same numbers as nbp.pl, together with the table number.
The previous business day’s rate
Polish VAT and income tax rules usually call for the rate from the last business day before the event. For an invoice dated on a Monday that is Friday’s rate. The option under the date does this for you.

Common questions
Which rate should I use for a foreign-currency invoice in Poland?
Polish VAT and income tax rules usually require the NBP mid rate from the last business day before the tax point or invoice date. Tick “use the last business day before this date” and pick the date.
When does the NBP publish rates?
The NBP publishes table A of mid rates on business days, usually between 11:45 and 12:15 Polish time. In the morning the converter shows the previous business day’s rates.
Why is my bank’s rate different?
The NBP mid rate is an official reference rate, not a price anyone sells currency at. Banks and exchange offices buy lower and sell higher; the difference is their margin.
